THE day...

Yup... It finally happened this morning! Cody and I go through a ritual of standing back to back to check the progress, and today was THE day...Cody is taller than me! It's just a smidgen of a quarter of an inch taller, but it's definitely taller! Time certainly doesn't stop or even slow down for just a minute...so to all you moms out there. Treasure every little moment you have with your children...just when you think things are the same and routine GREAT things are just about to happen!

Lesson for my Children...

Here's a great message that I told my kids today.

Learning to be a better person requires great self-awarness. It requires making ourselves vulnerable. Be a brave soul...seek the honest response.

Here's a photo of Hannah and her friend.

Arcylic Mania...

ok...I built up enough creative courage to fashion together an acylic mini album all on my own! I chose to play with Making Memories, 5th Ave. Paper Collection because I love the combination of colors...red, orange, black and white. It was just the kind of challenge I was seeking to accomplish ...and what an adorable album it turned out to be.

Oldies but Goodies

Here are some layouts from last year...the photographs are not good but it's fun to see the change. Not only to see the kids growth in the pictures but the change in scrapbooking style.

Frosting Request

By popular demand...Here's the recipe for my fluffy frosting.

Shelby's Fluffy Frosting

3 cups powdered sugar
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Sift powdered sugar into mixing bowl. Add egg whites. With electric mixer combine sugar and eggs for 5 minutes on medium speed. Add lemon juice, mix for another 2 minutes on high speed. This will make the frosting fluffy. Immediately use offset spatula to spread onto cupcakes.

This recipe makes enough frosting for 24 cupcakes.

Optional-tint with gel coloring.

Something Sweet...

I'm craving something sweet. You know after a great homemade meal(tonight's dinner was Swedish Meatballs over rotelli noodles) you just need something to satisfy that sweet tooth. Okay not everyone has the annoying sweet tooth, but for those of you who do... you know what I mean. So I thought I'd try the no calorie way first. Went to the garden and picked some flowers Dave seeded last year. I was hoping these beautiful sweet peas would do the trick and satisfy my craving. NOT!

Since I was still wanting something heavenly sweet, I took the homemade chocolate chip cookies I baked yesterday and made these ever so yummy ice cream cookie sandwiches.

Do you think Hannah likes them so much that she's saving some for later? LOL

Go ahead have something SWEET!

Turn that frown upside down.

Scrapbooking is my therapy. Here's a little something that helped lift my spirits. When I'm feeling blue...all I need to do is smell some Tombo, attach some pop dots and ink all the edges of my cardstock.

BFF

These girls are two peas in a pod...two Hannahs in a pod. They lovingly call each other Hannah 1 and Hannah 2.

Have good friends...and in order to have good friends you must first be a good friend. It's my wish that you have the kind of friends who won't hurt you, who will stick up for you and build you up!

It says....

Everyday I wear my favorite bracelet, it's a design from Brighton. It was a gift from my sweet friend, Heather. It reads very simple words with huge
meaning..."Celebrate Small Victories". It's a constant reminder to take joy in the
"Moment" and in the "Present".
Here's what I celebrate today...
Cody achieved great improvement on his Q3 Progress Report and I was able to snap this handsome shot of him in catcher's gear.
Thank you!

Butterflies & Flowers

Kristie inspired me with her poppy slide show... so... I drove around town in search of flowers because I couldn't find the exact field she visited. To our delight, look what we found!

Nicole inspired me with her story about her DS Ryan...the butterfly photos were taken at the Wild Animal Park in San Diego.

March for Dimes...March for Babies

I am very excited to be a part of the “first” March for Babies; please support my participation.

The March of Dimes has changed the name of its biggest event to March for Babies. It's a great change because it makes it very clear exactly who I am walking for -- all babies.
Although the name of this signature event changed, the mission did not. The March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will support lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start. Please help by donating today! The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
