I collect...

Shortly after I was married I discovered McCoy pottery, mainly due to the name sake. I have a small collection that is scattered around the house. I've received pieces as gifts, picked some up at estate sales and searched them out on e-bay.
Most are re purposed to hold thingies (like this pot)...
or display thingies (like this planter)... some are quite useful (like my smiley face mug)... some just sit pretty in the hutch (like the pink baby booties)...

I collect them because they make me happy. What do you collect?

project...

I learned how to crochet from Miss Meecham (dd 1st grade teacher) quite a bit ago. Then I crocheted for a church project...I crocheted hats that were then donated with in the community. It was fun and a super way to give back. Since then I've learned how to crochet more patterns. Right now I'm working on blankets...this will be project blanket number 5. Thank you Alyssa for showing me the blanket way. Stay tuned for completed project pix....

box update...

Some of you have asked to take a peek at one of my kitchen drawers. Here you go...this is the lunch box drawer. All the little containers, picks, holders and stuff.Friday's lunch box... it's a little heavy on the treats, but we're celebrating the girl who was "Super Kid"!

Monday Mania...

Today was the first day back to school for my kids, following winter break. Fun stuff! Back to the routine...proper bed times, homework schedule and lunch boxes.. Which brings me to the photo of the day...

Breakfast with the Beatles...

Do you listen to Breakfast with the Beatles on Sunday Morning on 97.5? When we have a chance we do..."Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine, I need to laugh and when the sun is out, I've got something I can laugh about, I feel good in a special way, I'm in love and it's a sunny day..." Mostly I was singing this song as a chant for warm baseball weather. Mother nature did not co-operate today and it was an overcast 48 degrees as we cheered our team on. Whoo hoo! Luckily I was semi-prepared...ski jackets, gloves, hats and scarves...Next time I'll be more prepared and pack the hot chocolate too!

Saturday something...

The Anthropologie of recycling...We adopted two pine trees... originally used as Christmas decorations at the nearby Anthropologie store.

These two evergreens will soon be rooted on our property. Thank you to Anthropology and their Adopt a Tree program. It's a GREEN thing...I mean good thing.

Year... Over Last

i heart cupcakes

I ♥ cupcakes... most of you already know that. But just in case you didn't, here is why...

They are small yummy little treats that are the symbols of happiness and celebration. Cupcakes are just the right size to satisfy your sweet tooth...and they come in their own little holders so...no need for a plate. I love to decorate them...to make tiny cute cakes... even more cute!

Message in a Pancake!

We saw some really cool pancakes on an episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri. Here's our quickie version.

Ingredients:

Pancake Mix (and what ever else your mix calls for)
Sandwich Baggy

Oil or Butter

Step 1: Make pancake batter..follow box directions.Step 2: Fill sandwich baggy with a little bit of batter. We used 1/4 of the batter. Snip one corner of the sandwich bag...so this can be used as your piping "writing" tip.
Step 3:Grease pan with oil or butter, heat and draw your design.
Step 4: After the design is cooked a bit..the edges of your design will slightly brown, pour batter over the design of the pancake.Step 5: Continue to cook the pancake as usual...wait for the little bubbles to form and flip.

Voila! Message in a pancake!

Come on... so fun and so cute! It really is okay to play with your food and my mom always said, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. "

Sunday Fun-Day...or NOT

Even if Hannah doesn't think so...It's the end of a long holiday weekend. Not only is there loads of laundry from the winter get-a-way to the cabin, but it's also time to take down the Christmas decorations and lights.Packing this decoration away gave me an idea to create another countdown. Hummm...you'll have to wait and see.

Hi! Family and Friends...First, I need to say I'm so sorry for being MIA, since September 2009. Life happens and I have to apologize that I was not the super woman I thought I was. Needless to say I'm so happy to have been given a wonderful opportunity and I 'm again able to arrange things so I can include posting for all my peeps out in Blogger land. I've missed you so MUCH!



It's Twenty-11 and I figure why not start the year off with a BANG...and with a little nudging from Blaiden Orion's mommy... I decided to make a huge commitment, to post once a day...everyday for the whole year! That's right...
